RUN THE RIVERS 2023
The Run the Rivers Campaign - uMngeni is an invitational fundraising experience that offers a few select public participants the opportunity to be a part of an intimate 5 day journey from the source of the Umgeni River, in the Dargle Valley, through some of KZN's most beautiful landscape, to the coastline with The Litterboom Project team and partners.
We will enjoy some of the amazing experiences along the way, as well as engage with local community champions and explore 5 themes along the way, along with our media team.
THE CAUSE
The purpose of run the rivers is to raise funds for various interventions along the Umgeni River, such as Litterbooms, water testing kits, education, vital infrastructure and innovative solutions that address important environmental and social issues.
Funds raised by the campaign will go towards several exciting and uplifting innitiatives, run by THE LITTERBOOM PROJECT, within five local communities. The key areas of focus within these communities are:
- Plastic Pollution
- Water Quality
- Infrastructure
- Education
- Innovation
